When we talk about completed Shonen Jump manga, some of us will associate them with manga like Dragon Ball, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Bleach, and Naruto.
Well, I don’t blame them for thinking that way considering that they’re a cult-classic, popular manga.
Okay, maybe not for manga like Bleach and Naruto since they’re more or less new manga compared to Dragon Ball and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.
But despite being a new manga, I will say that they’re pretty popular, enough to dub them as flagship manga.
Just go to any anime expo, and you’re bound to see characters from any of these manga all over the promotional materials.
And pretty much everybody knows them too, even the non-manga fans.
As much as you enjoy reading them, some of you must be wondering if there are other manga that is just as good as this manga.
Well, you’re right about that.
There are tons of Shonen Jump manga that are worth reading. But if you’re looking for the completed ones, then you can’t go wrong with any of these.
Completed Shonen Jump manga that is worth reading
If you’re used to the likes of Dragon Ball, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Bleach, and Naruto, you may find that the manga is rather short, with many of them only having around 20-30 books in total.
But story-wise, they’re just as good despite being short. Here are some of them that I highly recommend that you take a look at.
Magu-chan: God of Destruction
Do you consider yourself lucky or just plain bad luck when you found a magical jewel while collecting clamshells only to realize that the magical jewel contains a creature that brings calamity?
And unbeknownst to you, it’s the same God of Destruction who tried to destroy humanity hundreds of years ago.
Well, that seems to be what Magu-chan: God of Destruction is all about in a nutshell.
Despite its serious-sounding premise, the manga is hilarious with all sorts of wacky things that Magu Menueku does as he tries to adapt himself to modern life.
And as you can already expect, he’s not the only god out there. There are many more just like him, with all of them having their own quirky personality.
If comedy with a sprinkle of slice-of-life elements is what you’re looking for, then this manga is certainly perfect for you.

Haikyu!!
Who would have thought that a manga about volleyball could be fun to read even for non-sports fans?
Well, I don’t blame you if you find that volleyball or any sports, in general, are boring. Turning any sports into a manga isn’t going to make any difference at all if it’s as boring as hell.
If that’s your perception about the sports manga, then you’ll be surprised to find out that Haikyu!! is nothing like that at all.
Yes, there’s no doubt that Haikyu!! is all about volleyball, nothing else. But what I love about the manga is that it has a nice blend of story, action, and volleyball basics.
And the actions are pretty realistic too, with no shonen-manga-like special power involved.
So yes, you can still enjoy reading the manga even if you’re not a sports fan and know nothing about volleyball.

Dr. STONE
Imagine waking up thousands of years into the future where the humanity we know as it is has been destroyed due to every last human on the planet turning to stone for an unknown reason along with the technology that we have today.
Rather than waking up thousands of years with high technology surrounding us, we wake up in a world that resembles a lot more like the Stone Age instead.
That’s the kind of world that Senku currently lives in as he finally breaks free from the petrification thousands of years after that.
Despite the situation, he aims to revive every last human that turns into stone and also bring back the technology that we lost, one step at a time.
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not into the post-apocalyptic genre that much. But what makes Dr. STONE a fascinating read is that it’s possible to create all the technology that we have today from scratch.
And yes, even with so many zigzag paths that they have to go through to reach the goal.
This manga is NOT for you if you’re looking for something with pure action. But if you’re looking for a manga that allows you to learn something new along the way, then this manga will be a fun read for you.

Bakuman
Contrary to popular belief, the path to becoming a mangaka is filled with hardship. And only a handful of them made it through.
This is the harsh reality that Mashiro and Takagi have to face as they embark on their journey to become a mangaka for Jump under the pen name Muto Ashirogi.
If it sounds like the situation that resembles most manga in Shonen Jump, then you’re spot on about that.
The manga covers every single thing you need to know about the manga industry from the creator’s perspective.
While some of the situations that are being portrayed in the manga are something that many of us are already familiar with, many of them are eye-opening for the most part.
If you’re looking for another manga that allows you to learn something new in the process, then you’re going to enjoy reading this manga.

Assassination Classroom
If you think that the story will revolve around everyone in the classroom trying to assassinate each other, then you’ll be surprised to find out that’s not the case at all in Assassination Classroom.
Yes, it’s true that the story is about these students having to assassinate someone. But instead of assassinating among themselves, they’ll be assassinating their octopus-looking homeroom teacher instead.
If they don’t assassinate him within a specific timeframe, he will blow himself up along with the planet.
So, the fate of humanity lies in the hand of these Class E students.
And the thing about them is that they’re not the elite students in the school either. They are the worst student in terms of academic performance.
Contrary to its grim premise, the manga does have tons of funny moments with life lessons about life mixed in between.

Add Jump Plus manga to your reading list as well
Unlike its Shonen Jump manga counterpart, the story in Jump Plus manga tends to be heavier and geared towards the older audience.
So, many of the stories tend to be more complex and filled with mature elements such as violence and nudity.
If you want something different from your typical Shonen Jump manga, then it’s worth considering adding Jump Plus manga to your reading list as well.
And yes, these manga that is on the list are already complete, in case you’re wondering.
Astra Lost in Space
What seems like a typical school camp trip on another planet turns into a disaster when all of the students were being transported to outer space.
And the only thing that is a saving grace for them is the floating, empty spaceship that they come across not far from where they are.
Thanks to the spaceship, they make a visit to each planet that they come across as they try to make it home alive.
If space adventure mixed with comedy is your thing, then there’s no doubt that the manga will be an interesting read for you.

The Vertical World
Ruska has always been fascinated with the world below him. It was only when he saw a girl falling from the sky above that made him want to fall to the bottom as well.
Little that he knows what he discovers along the way is something more than what he can chew.
Unlike many of the Jump Plus manga you read, this manga isn’t available in print. But the good news is you can read the manga for free on MANGA Plus.
And another thing about this manga? You’ll be scrolling vertically instead of the usual horizontal scrolling when you read this manga.
Well, this is the vertical world we’re talking about here. So, it has to be vertical scrolling, right? It doesn’t make sense at all if this manga sticks to using the usual horizontal scrolling.
Where’s the beauty in that?
While the art may not be that appealing considering it looks more like the kind of art you’ve seen on a comic strip, the story is pretty complex.

Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku
A group of criminals was sent to an island that is believed to have the fountain of youth. If any of them managed to get a hold of the fountain of youth, the emperor will pardon their past crime and he or she will become a free man after that.
While it may seem like a simple task on the surface, what awaits them is tons of unknown, vicious creatures roaming all over the island instead. And they’re ready to kill those who come unprepared.
I won’t deny that the story in this manga does contain tons of violence with a little bit of nudity in the flesh here and there.
But the story isn’t just about violence all the time. There are tons of heartwarming and funny scenes too.
If you crave something that is a little different from your usual Shonen Jump manga, then this manga is a must-read for you.
