New Year Goals For 2017

What’s the best way to illustrate my new year goals for 2017 other than this Saiki’s satisfied look?

Does it mean that I manage to accomplish every single goal that I plan in 2016?

Well, unfortunately, no. Just like everyone else, I didn’t manage to achieve everything that I planned for that year.

What I accomplish in 2016

Maybe it’s just me, but I noticed that my 2016 didn’t start off great. Not only that it was messy too.

Everything that I did just didn’t turn out great.

But then again, I’m glad that I was still able to accomplish some of my goals despite feeling that the world is against me.

Okay, that seems overdramatic. But you know what I mean.

Here are some of the goals that I managed to achieve in 2016.

Starting a new series

I’m glad that I managed to release the first book from Trigger Locked series, The Mind Control Assassins.

It took much longer than what I anticipated. But hey, that’s already good enough for me.

It’s just that it was unfortunate that I wasn’t able to release the prequel to Trigger Locked series, A Triggered Past in the same year.

I hope that I can release the prequel this year. Let’s see how it goes then.

Publishing an audiobook

It’s sad to say that I only managed to publish only one audiobook this year instead of three.

And the one that made it to the list was the first book from Trigger Locked series, The Mind Control Assassins.

I did start recording The Diary of Modern Cinderella in January. I thought that I could finish the recording for the whole book in a few days.

I guessed that I underestimated how long it took to record only for one chapter.

It seemed that I was only able to record one chapter in a day. There goes my plan for recording one to three chapters in a day.

In the end, I postponed the recording for The Diary of Modern Cinderella and proceeded with The Mind Control Assassins instead.

I also planned to record the whole book for Twisted Destiny too. It was too bad that I was way too exhausted to continue with recording the next book.

It didn’t help that I fell sick a few weeks after I already submitted The Mind Control Assassins audiobook on the audiobook sites.

So, The Mind Control Assassins was the only audiobook I released in 2016.

Start to be active on Goodreads

I never seem to care about updating anything on Goodreads when I signed up for it. But starting in 2016, I began to record every single book I read there, including the scanlations that I read.

I knew that Goodreads author account was more capable than logging in what books I was reading and when I finished the book. But that was the only thing I was making full use of for the time being.

I do have a plan to utilize Goodreads to the fullest. But I can only do that after I finish everything that I intend to do for this year.

Post more on Tumblr

Besides posting about the blog updated on Tumblr, I also began to post about things related to my fandom on Tumblr.

Since Tumblr was perfect for a short blog post, I also posted a brief review of the books that I read there. But it was so time-consuming to me, though.

As a result, I no longer posted the review on my Tumblr.

Maybe I should reserve these brief reviews that I write on Tumblr for the reviews on Goodreads.

That seems like the perfect place for me to post my thoughts about the books instead of on Tumblr.

My new year goals for 2017

Despite not being able to accomplish what I need to accomplish in 2016, I still love to come up with the goals that I plan to achieve in 2017.

On top of that, many of the goals that I plan to meet are something that is beyond my comfort zone!

Heck, I already feel excited even when I’m just writing about it.

Publishing the new version of The Diary of Modern Cinderella

I started to rewrite The Diary of Modern Cinderella during NaNoWriMo when I realized that it deserved a major rewriting instead of a light editing.

I have no idea when I’m going to release the new version of The Diary of Modern Cinderella. But you can expect that I will release the book in March.

Write the second book for Trigger Locked series

I must be out of my mind when I’ve decided to write the second book in the series while working on The Diary of Modern Cinderella at the same time.

I admit that it seems like an impossible feat to me. But maybe I can pull it off just fine.

Let’s just hope that I don’t split myself in half by the end of the day.

Publish the remaining audiobooks

I still insist on publishing The Diary of Modern Cinderella audiobook and Twisted Destiny audiobook. It may take a while. But I hope that I’m able to release the audiobook somewhere during late 2017.

Sorry, that’s the only tentative date I can give you for the time being.

Start my Patreon campaign

Okay, I admit that It’s one of the goals that I failed to accomplish in 2016. So, I’m still going to proceed with my plan to create Patreon campaign this year despite my skepticism.

I already have a rough idea of what I’d like to give to my patrons. Since setting up the campaign may take a while, I hope that the campaign is up and running in early 2017.

Getting started with merchandising my works

I’m always fascinated with goods associated with anime, manga, and video games. So, it’s natural for me to envision such things for my own work.

I don’t have any plan yet on what sort of merchandise that I plan to create and have it for sale on my website.

But I can tell you that I’m planning to focus on merchandising Trigger Locked series.

Now I feel like a big shot from the anime, manga, and video game industry.

What about my personal goals for this year?

To be honest, the only personal goal that I like to achieve is to finish every book that I have on my Kindle app.

Okay, I know that may seem funny to you. But I had quite an extensive collection of books sitting idly on my Kindle app.

It becomes this big thanks to the books that I got during the sale. Somehow, I can’t seem to resist the temptation of buying books that are only $0.99 each.

As of writing, I currently have 43 books that I haven’t read yet.

43 books may not seem a lot to some people. But it’s a lot to me, considering that I don’t have a lot of time to spare for reading books.

I can only afford to read one chapter a day for both fiction books and non-fiction books.

So, I’m not sure if I can finish reading all books by the end of this year. But then again, I’m positive that I’ll be able to finish reading the books someday.

Well, that’s just the way I am.

My hope in 2017

For some reason, I’m a lot more optimistic than I was in 2016.

Will 2017 be the best year ever for me?

Well, hopefully, it is.

And I hope that 2017 will be the best year for you too.
