After a long time, I’m proud to announce that the book is now officially released. The prequel is called A Triggered Past.

Why it takes so long to publish Trigger Locked prequel

The answer to this question is easy. I didn’t have the budget to get the book published.

In case you’re wondering, it takes a lot of money to publish a book of any kind. And that’s the reason why some authors, mangaka and even anime directors are launching a crowdfunding campaign.

Well, I’m fortunate that I can do most of the book publishing myself. But the only thing I can’t do is the cover illustration.

In my case, book cover illustration takes a significant portion of my book publishing budget. Since I don’t have a lot of budgets, I can only spend only on one thing. And that is the book cover illustration.

Regardless of the type of book you sell, people will only give your book a chance if you have a professional-looking cover.

You don’t have to browse through on Amazon just to see for yourself. Just head over to places like Wattpad. You’ll realize that most books that get the most readers have a professional-looking cover.

Even Wattpad guideline also encourages the Wattpad authors to get a professional-looking book cover if they want to increase their readership.

So, having a professional-looking cover is important if you want your readers to take your book seriously.

I can talk about the book cover all day long.

But my point is having a professional-looking book cover is important to me even if I’m giving my book away for free.

Free books are the extension of my brand. It also matters as much as my paid books.

The future of Trigger Locked series

I have to admit that I didn’t plan to release A Triggered Past so soon. Sure, I should have published the book a long time ago. But then again, I felt like it was too soon.

My initial plan was to write the second book from the Trigger Locked series early this year. But with the release of the brand new edition of The Diary of Modern Cinderella that takes a huge amount of commitment on my side, I had to push my plan to write the book to a later date.

I thought that I could begin writing the second book this month. But with so many of my projects that are yet to be completed, I’ve decided to postpone and write the book during NaNoWriMo 2017.

Again, I didn’t plan to take part in NaNoWriMo this year.

But with so many things I have to do, I can only dedicate my time for writing the second book in November.
