Here’s the funny thing about my winter 2024 anime list – I thought I would have a long list of anime to watch this season.
But it turns out that’s not the case at all.
It seems that I watch less new anime this season compared to the previous season.
Does it mean I’ll be adding more new anime to watch on that list?
Of course, the answer is no.
As much as I enjoy watching anime, I prefer to spend more time reading books.
Don’t worry, I will continue to watch new anime like I always have since it’s my gateway to discover new manga and light novels to read.
If you’re wondering which new manga and light novels I’ll be adding to my reading list, then you can bet you’ll know about it through this post.
The Winter 2024 anime that I’m currently watching
While it’s true that I don’t watch as many anime as I used to, it doesn’t mean most of the anime for this season is a total dud.
If anything, I should say that the anime lineup for this season isn’t so bad, with a handful of them happening to be the ones that I’m looking forward to watching every single week.
As always, you can take a look at the full lineup right here if you’re looking for a complete list of anime that comes out this season.
With that said, here is the Winter 2024 anime that I’m currently watching.
7th Time Loop

I feel sorry for Rishe that every time she managed to live life to the fullest in every loop, she always ended up dead due to the war.
And every time she reincarnates, it will always be during the moment when the crown prince is calling off their engagement.
It feels as if the moment signifies something so pivotal that can alter the course of the trajectory.
Depending on her decision during that moment, it may stop the war altogether so then she will live for another day.
Or she may wound up dead and repeat the whole cycle once again.
While I’m not into the reincarnation story that much, I do find the story to be rather intriguing.
Funnily enough, it somehow reminds me of Akagami Shirayukihime minus the reincarnation part.
Yes, you want to know what causes the war to occur in the first place considering that Prince Arnold Hein doesn’t seem to be the person she used to know in her previous loops.
But at the same time, you’re also invested in Rishe’s relationship with him despite him being her worst enemy.
If you want a different spin on the reincarnation story with the romance bit in between, then this anime is for you.
Since this is the anime that I’m looking forward to the most every week, does it mean I will add the light novel to my list then?
Well, it depends on how the story in the anime will turn out. If it doesn’t live up to my satisfaction, then I may consider adding it to my reading list.
And if it sounds like the kind of story you would enjoy, you can get the light novel and manga right here on Amazon:

Ao no Exorcist – Shimane Illuminati-hen

To be honest, I never thought that we would be getting another Ao Exorcist anime considering that it’s been such a long time since the Impure King arc.
Well, at least you can rest assured that the story in this arc will be just like the one in the manga.
As you can tell, this is not the kind of anime that you can jump in right away without having to watch from the beginning.
So, it’s best to watch the first season of the anime or read the manga first before you continue with this arc.
If anything, I highly recommend that you read the manga instead of watching the anime, though.
Why the manga instead of the anime, you ask?
The reason for that is that the rest of the story in the first season is nothing but a filler episode. Only the first few episodes of the anime are the same as the manga.
Rather than wasting your time watching the anime, your time is best spent on reading the manga instead.
It was only during the Impure King arc that the anime follows the story in the manga.
The good news is you can read the manga for free on MANGA Plus. But you need to upgrade to the Standard plan if you want to read until the latest chapter, though.
If you’re interested in reading the manga, you can read it right here on MANGA Plus:

Not into monthly subscriptions? You can get the manga as an individual volume right here on Amazon:

In case you’re wondering, I’m currently reading the manga on MANGA Plus.
Hime-sama Goumon no Jikan desu

Here’s the thing about Hime-sama Goumon no Jikan desu anime. I’ve already read the manga ever since it was available on MANGA Plus.
The manga was enjoyable to read, of course.
But I never thought that I would laugh this much when I watched the anime version.
Don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing funny about seeing someone torturing another person just to get the secrets.
It’s just the kind of torture you’ll see in this anime isn’t what you expect.
If you’re looking for a comedy anime to watch, this one is your best bet.
Just like Ao no Exorcist, this is another manga that you can read on MANGA Plus as well.
Of course, you will need to upgrade to the Standard plan if you wish to read the manga until the latest chapter.
If the manga somehow piques your curiosity, you can have a look at it right here on MANGA Plus:

Sad to say, the manga isn’t licensed in English for digital and print release yet. So, your only choice for now is to read the manga on MANGA Plus.
Majo to Yajuu

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not into the fantasy genre of any kind. But sign me up when it’s a murder mystery story even if it takes place in the fantasy setting.
And we have witches who go around spreading curses as the baddies in this story.
If it feels like it gives you the same vibe as Shinigami Bocchan to Kuro Maid, then you’re half right.
Our character, Guideau, here is on the hunt for the witch who laid a curse upon her.
And then we have Ashaf who is with an organization that deals with the witch-related incident and is lending help to Guideau.
Since this is a murder mystery kind of story, you can bet that the story won’t be as wholesome as the one in Shinigami Bocchan to Kuro Maid.
Expect to see people being killed in a gruesome way considering this is a witch we’re dealing with here.
If a mythical, murder mystery is your thing, then you surely enjoy this anime.
And if you’re thinking about giving the light novel a try, you can get it right here on Amazon:
The Witch and The Beast Vol.1 light novel on Amazon
Will I be giving the light novel a try then? For now, the answer is no despite the story being a murder mystery.
But hey, I may add it to the list if I happen to get the light novel when it’s on sale.
Urusei Yatsura (2022)

Well, there’s not much explanation needed here since I already watched the first season of the anime before.
So, it makes sense that I will continue to watch the second season as well.
Should you jump straight into the second season without having to watch the first season beforehand?
The answer is it’s not recommended especially if you want a better context on what transpires between Lum and Ataru.
Yes, I admit the story isn’t that hard to grasp even if it’s your first time watching Urusei Yatsura.
But considering how massive the characters in Urusei Yatsura are, then it’s best to watch the first season first to avoid confusion.
And if you prefer to read the manga instead, you can get the manga right here on Amazon:
